Summer Camp 2024 is in full swing! “The Nehemiah Project (Phase 1)” came to a close on Saturday June 22nd, 2024 at 6:30 pm when we received our final VA Dept. of Health inspection for approval to open back up to Campers for the first time since 2019; and by 6:35 pm counselors began to move into the dorms! Resounding over the last almost 5 years: God gives us exactly what we need when we need it - tools, resources, finances, and even time. While it’s in our DNA to want to control every area of our circumstances, God has proven to so many of us over this phase of the restoration, that His grace is sufficient in all things. Our role in that, is to simply ABIDE in Him and faithfully trust Him to work through His people… and that’s exactly how He has proved His sovereignty. Looking back on the first week of Soft-Launch 24’- its amazing to watch how God perfectly aligns a plan by weaving lives together across huge distances. The intentionality of the Adventure Camp for Christ (formerly AWANA Scholarship Camp) impressed on Campers the importance and power of Scripture memory. As the SoLC Summer Camp Staff Family served alongside counselors and ACFC Staff, we watched as spiritual chains seemed to literally fall off of some of the children who came from a variety of environments. From the first day, it was clear that all of the efforts over the last several years were worth it…. if only 1 child experienced the love that would lead to a life altering power of a relationship with Jesus Christ…. Thank you for your role in providing that opportunity to campers once again!
