Winter 2026!!

Its come in like a big-beautiful whirlwind…

and January and February have been chock-full of ministry and service opportunities!

Here’s a brief recap of what’s been going on in Patrick Springs:

So THIS is a Snowpocalypse?!?

4” of Ice, followed by 12” of Snow, followed by 2” of ice, followed by another 4” of snow, all within a 2 week window of below freezing temps

Hours and hours

of shoveling…

but….

Summer’s-a-Comin’!

In the meantime, God has already given us some amazing opportunities to serve beyond the traditional Summer Camping Ministries!

Here are just a few moments:

Service and Outreach Ministries:

BUNK BEDS!!!

Thanks to the many hands who played a part in building and arranging the beds in the dormitory! We are closer than ever to finishing this phase of the Nehemiah Project!

SWIMMING POOL!!!

We recently had 5 dump-truck loads of gravel delivered that will be used to help re-route the ground water issues under the swimming pool. Pray with us for the Lord’s financial provision and the right advisors to help us with the next phase of the Nehemiah Project!

FINAL CONSTRUCTION!!!

It’s incredible the amount of work that has gone on to get the Dorms ready for campers! It has been a beautiful thing to watch service teams of all shapes and sizes, come together to accomplish something HUGE for the honor and glory of the Lord!

SHARED AND MOBILIZED RESOURCES!!!

What an honor it is to serve the Lord with ministry partners! Two of those partners are NC-Child Evangelism Fellowship and Good News Global! Both of these ministries help equip Springs of Life Camp in different ways for the work God has called us to do.

Camping and On-Site Ministries:

CHAPEL WORSHIP:

Our first Winter Retreat is in the books! We welcomed youth from 2 local churches out of Winston Salem, NC at the beginning of January. While this was the first visit for many, it was so much fun re-connecting with SoLC Alumni who are making an impact in the lives of kids for the sake of the Gospel!

BIG BALL VOLLEYBALL:

If this blacktop could talk! For more than 50 years this spot has seen everything from basketball, volleyball, water sports, remote control cars, and believe it or not, a BMX track! It brought back some fun feelings watching the Big Ball come out! Unfortunately they aren’t made like they used to and this one lasted maybe 2 more volleys after this shot…

NC CHILD EVANGELISM FELLOWSHIP (CEF):

Equippers-equipping-Equippers! This group of vocational missionaries joined us for 15 days to “level-up” their ability to train the next generation of ministry leaders. We are thrilled with this new relationship and we’re eager to see what the Lord has in store for the future!

LIFE LODGE/DINING HALL:

On this side of Phase 1 of the Nehemiah Project, we are so thankful for the way the Life Lodge turned out. This space is perfect for almost any need. From meals, games, seminars, and meetings, God has equipped Springs of Life Camp to truly serve in ways that we never realized.

Where are they now?

THEN: Seth Clawson joined the SoLC Summer Staff family in 2018 with his brother Kyle. Seth was a stand-out staffer who was willing to serve in whatever capacity he was needed.

NOW: Officer Seth Clawson just graduated Police Academy at the top of his class and today serves with the Roanoke County Police Department! We’re certain his incredible Rubik’s Cube solving skills come in handy as he steps in to keep the peace in his new assignment on the force.
