Travel Day HONDURAS (Friday 10/27/2023)

As we begin our journey to Blossom Creek TOGETHER, we are gratefully humbled that God would choose us to be a part of this incredible opportunity to serve. To that…

Welcome to TRAVEL DAY!

Our day began at 2:45 am when we met half of our team in Winston Salem to travel to Greensboro (PTI Airport) to meet-up with the rest of our travel team. After we checked our bags and boarded the plane, we took off at 5:35 am to our next destination: Atlanta (Hartsfield - Jackson Atlanta International Airport). Once we arrived at Gate E to wait for our connection flight, we explored the food court for breakfast! After a power meal, we made it back with the perfect amount of time in order to be in the air by 10:30 am.

We landed in Honduras nearly 3 hours later, but when we looked at our clocks, it was only around 11:30 am! Honduras is 2 hours behind Springs of Life Camp time (Eastern). Already exhausted from our travels, we were pleasantly surprised with how easy the customs process was at San Pedro Sula!

When we made it on the other side of customs with all of our luggage (around 30 people were with us!), David Guevara, his oldest son Andrew, and their team of vehicles and drivers quickly got us loaded and on the road. Since the drive from San Pedro Sula is about 2 hours, we stopped at the regular lunch spot for short-term missions teams coming to Blossom Creek, POWER CHICKEN!

As we wrapped up lunch and made the trek up the mountain to Santa Barbara, we made it to our rooms for the week at D&D (Coffee) Brewery at the base of the mountain where Blossom Creek is beautifully situated…

After a brief time to unload, we hopped back into our vehicles and made our first visit to Blossom Creek official and had a really nice dinner that had been prepared for our team! After dinner, we made it back to our rooms by 8:30 pm (Blossom Creek time) and laid our heads down almost immediately to dream about what would be in store for DAY 1 .
