Experience Planning
With just under 40 acres of space, we have room to grow as the Lord leads.
God has equipped us with a spacious and freshly remodeled facility that enables an entire community with a revitalized desire for service!
To that, here’s a breakdown of how the facility is set-up today:
A- The Life Lodge
B- The Pine Pavilion
C- The Chapel
D- The Big Top
A- The Life Lodge
The first building you meet as you pull into the property is where you’ll find most of the indoor day-to-day activities.
With a variety of meeting spaces and overnight amenities, the Life Lodge as a whole is easily adaptable to meet a number of ministry needs.
In addition to the plethora of overall renovation upgrades, our commercial kitchen showcases both in-house and catering menus loaded with award-winning and scratch-made dishes and desserts!
B- The Pine Pavilion
Located at top of the round about, this dormitory style building contains 80 bunk beds (sleeping up to 160 people), 18 commodes, 20 sinks, and 16 showers!
The top and bottom levels mirror each other’s floor plan, leaving room to split up 4 different sections according to the ministry needs. Each section includes 4 large bedrooms (5 bunk bed sets in each), a shower room, and a restroom.
We’re thrilled to be able to say that the lower level now includes outdoor access to restrooms that now comply with ADA standards!
C- The Chapel
Fittingly, situated at the center of the Life Lodge and Pine Pavilion sets the heartbeat of why we do what we do.
The upper level contains the building’s namesake, the Chapel. Complete with 192 stadium style seats, stage, and a stationary audio/visual system, this space provides the perfect setting for a variety of corporate worship experiences.
The lower level contains more overnight accommodations, a large meeting space (including options for concessions and entertainment), and a small laundromat.
D- The Big Top
Nestled just above the Chapel sits the 2nd largest structure on the property.
This open-air recreation center provides a covered solution for outdoor meetings and activities of all shapes and sizes. Complete with a stage and electricity for lighting and a/v needs, this space is perfect to bring the inside out.
Future projects include enclosing this space, adding restrooms, a kitchenette, and more parking areas!
Planning a Visit
It’s important to do your research before visiting a new place.
We hope that the following details will help you know what to expect on your first visit!
As ministry needs change, we are constantly looking for ways to adapt as the Lord leads. Please let us know if you observe areas where we can improve your next visit by Clicking Here .
Parking
For all structured DRE Community Member times, there will be someone to greet you at the entrance to direct you where to go.
NOTE: Carpooling is certainly appreciated to help control the parking flow behind the scenes. There are 2 off-site parking locations within a few miles if meeting locally to ride together.
Handicapped Access Points
The Life Lodge: There are two ways to access this building without steps. 1-From the top sidewalk across from the Pine Pavilion; and 2- At the rider drop-off point at the end of the hotel rooms
The Pine Pavilion: The lower level provides handicapped access through the interior entrance underneath the balconies.
The Chapel: A custom access point is located at the upper level front entrance of the Chapel.
The Big Top: Excluding the stage, the entire level is handicapped accessible.
Public Restrooms
Public Restrooms are located at the Life Lodge in the meeting room airlock at the end of the hotel hallway.
Depending on the event set-up, additional Public Restrooms may be located at the Pine Pavilion.

From Community Lay Director: Matt Tatum (Dec. 2025)
A Major Turning Point —
A New Home for 2026 December 2025 After nearly 15 years with Cornerstone—years filed with partnership, generosity, and grace; their increased rates and revised deposit requirements placed future events outside what we believed the community could sustain. With costs more than doubling and full payment of each event being required 30 days prior to the event, the Board felt compelled to seek direction from the Lord and explore other options.
Site visits were conducted at:
Camp Pitt Reidsvi le 4-H Center (our original home)
Smith Mountain Lake 4-H Center
Camp CareFree
Springs of Life Camp
And additional locations still being discussed
After much prayer, discernment, and evaluation of cost, ministry fit, and logistical considerations, the Board has unanimously decided: The 2026 Spring Walks wil be held at Springs of Life in Patrick Springs, VA. We believe Springs of Life offers a wonderful opportunity and a fresh environment for God to continue the powerful work He is doing in DRE. Because this transition is happening quickly, the Board has secured only the Spring Walks, with the intention of evaluating each event while continuing to explore all viable long-term options. As our sister Fran often asks: “Are you excited?” I know I am!

Springs of Life Camp was organized in 1973 by a fellowship of 12 like-visioned churches who recognized the power of Bible Camping Ministries.
While the churches in the fellowship don’t look the same as they did in the 70’s, today Springs of Life Camp is still owned, maintained, and operated as an intentional ministry of the local churches, organizations, and families who comprise our membership.

Up until the last few years we could say that Springs of Life was all but “off grid”. Today, if you’re a T-Mobile subscriber (or use a device who shares their towers) then you’ll definitely have cell service. All other carriers are going to be hit or miss. We do have a landline onsite.
With our landline service we also have limited Wi-Fi access in certain locations around the property.
